| Candidates stance on Aging Issues |

The "Race for the White House" has begun. Candidates have taken positions on
many issues and the electorate [hopefully] will support to the candidate whose
positions are most consistent with the voter's philosophy.
Many organizations have solicited candidates opinions on specific issues. Obviously the questions posed can be biased based on the organization's goals. The Leadership Council of Aging Organizations is a coalition of 56 national non-profit organizations which focus on "aging issues". The questions which the LCAO presented to all the candidates reflect the issues important for 56 organizations--not one organization--thus the potential bias factor is reduced.
The questions posed by the LCAO and the candidates responses are now posted on the LCAO web-site [www.lcao.org] Replies from many candidates are not included. These candidates opted not to respond. [Some responded indicating that they would not answer the questions, others ignored the questions completely.] The posted response and the fact that other candidates decided not to respond gives an indication of the importance of "aging issues" for the candidates.
